Hi, I’m Monika — the owner, sugarist, and laser technician here at Lendrum Sugaring and Laser in Edmonton. I’m a certified sugarist trained in advanced techniques, including male and female Brazilians, and I’m also a licensed and certified laser technician. I provide professional sugaring hair removal and laser hair removal for all bodies (male, female, or anywhere in between), as well as IPL photofacials and skin pigmentation removal.
I’ve been operating Lendrum Sugaring and Laser since 2016, with nearly a decade of hands-on experience helping clients feel comfortable, confident, and well cared for. I expanded my services to include laser hair removal and IPL skin rejuvenation in 2021, and I continue to invest in ongoing education to ensure my treatments are safe, effective, and personalized. My priorities are always your comfort, your safety, and your results — and my clients trust me because they know I genuinely care about their satisfaction.
Before opening my business, I spent 20 years working as an IT contractor. While I enjoyed the analytical side of that work, I missed the personal connection. When a friend suggested I open a home-based sugaring business in Edmonton, it immediately felt right — and it turned out to be one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. Five years later, expanding into laser services felt like a natural next step.
I enjoy meeting new people, having interesting conversations, and creating a relaxed, welcoming environment for everyone I work with. My analytical background plays a big role in how I approach laser treatments. Many of my clients come to me after trying laser elsewhere with less-than-satisfactory results. I enjoy figuring out how to achieve optimal outcomes by carefully adjusting treatments and staying informed through clinical studies related to laser hair removal, hair growth, and skin response. I also enjoy sharing that knowledge so my clients feel informed and confident in their decisions.
In 2016, the reading room in our home — complete with teak and antique bookcases — was converted into a comfortable, private treatment space for sugaring services. In 2021, that space expanded to include laser treatments, while maintaining the same welcoming and discreet environment.
Outside of work, I’m an avid gardener and love spending time in my yard during the summer. I enjoy walks in the river valley with friends, live theatre, burlesque shows, yoga, the gym, and always have one (or more!) books on the go. I’m also an enthusiastic traveller, with many future trips planned.
